Bakketun & Norum is an artist duo based in Oslo, founded by Andrea Bakketun (b.1983, Trondheim) and Christian Tony Norum (b. 1980, Oslo) in 2012. The collaboration unites the artists? individual practices in total installations and poetic performances, where historical events are interpreted and retold in combination with intuitive, live art production.
The artists have exhibited and performed at various institutions and galleries the latest years; like GLStrand (Copenhagen), UKS (Oslo), Papay Gyro Nights Art Festival (Papay Westray, Orkney Islands and Cattle Depot Artist Village, Hong Kong), The Autumn Exhibition (Oslo), the Kittelsens House/1857 (Hvitsten/Oslo), House of Artists (Oslo), Autocenter (Berlin), Kunsthaus Essen (Essen), De Brakke Grond (Amsterdam), NoPlace (Oslo), Malmö Konsthall (Malmö), MACRO Museum/ Kaleidoscope Artfair (Roma), MOMA PS1 (New York), Tidens Krav (Oslo), 18th street Art Center (LA) and Gavu Cheb Museum (Praha).
Bakketun & Norum’s practice also include curatorial projects like Skogul Gondul (Orkney & Hong Kong), Five thousand generations of birds (Fitjar) and Menneskeberget, Munch’s Ekely (Oslo).
